Nyame Dua Foster Home

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  As of 12 noon on Monday, February 4th, $814.95 has been collected for the *immediate* needs of Nyame Dua Foster Homes.  Thank you!!
A generous man will himself be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor. — Proverbs 22:9 (NIV)

We have been notified by Paul Anaba (Director of Nyame Dua Foster Homes) that the American agency who has been helping support them for several years has just withdrawn its support.  This is not because of anything negative at the home, but rather because the agency is withdrawing support throughout its Ghana program.  The home is now several hundred dollars short for the amount needed to pay childcare givers, give 3 meals per day, and provide lunch money for the children each month.

For those that may not know, Nyame Dua Foster Homes (in Bolgatanga and Teshie, Ghana) provide loving Christian foster care to around 40 children in total.  "Daddy Paul" does not care for only young or adoptable children but instead opens his homes to any child that is in need of loving care.  Most children are older than 8 years old.  Some of the children are eventually adopted, while others will remain in Daddy Paul's care until adulthood.  Children in the homes receive 3 meals a day, education, medical care, and emotional/spiritual support.

There are two issues:  The emergency amount needed for this month's costs, and the long-term recurring donations required to properly care for the children long-term.

FEBRUARY NEEDS (deadline February 10th) :
  • $200, food provisions
  • $30 X 5 ($150), lunch money, one month for 5 teenage boys that live in the Teshie Foster Home.
  • $225, child care worker pay for one month (3 childcare workers)

TOTAL: $575 needed *immediately*

Please consider a donation of ANY amount!!!  [Adding 3% will cover paypal fees.]

**THIS NEED HAS BEEN MET SO THE "DONATE" BUTTON HAS BEEN REMOVED.**

ONGOING NEEDS:

  • $30 monthly "canteen" (school lunch) sponsorship, 5 boys.  Sponsors may email/write letters to the children, and receive photos and school updates at least quarterly!
  • Eight (or more) $25 recurring "food provision" donations.  Updates on the home(s) and children can be sent to donors.
  • Three $75 recurring "childcare worker" donations, or Nine $25 recurring "childcare worker" donations.
Recurring monthly donations total $575 each month.  Please consider choosing one option as an ongoing donation to Nyame Dua.  Contact FEEDING THE ORPHANS to set up your recurring donation.  They have requested to administrate ongoing donations.

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Galatians 6:9

*Any and all donations above the goal amount will still be sent directly to Nyame Dua Foster Homes.

**100% of donated amount will go to Nyame Dua Foster Homes (not to Eban Project).
